Hell Night
I just returned from Hell Night at the East Coast Grill, which I enjoyed with Matt and Jacy. 6 months ago, there were two others that joined us for the bi-annual event - but seemed to have chickened out this time around. Basically, the night exists for the chefs to challenge their diners to eat the spiciest (yet still tasty) dishes they can prepare. Next to each menu item is a bomb rating, giving you an idea of how spicy you should expect your food to be. They also have a "wimp menu" for those not able to handle the heat. We had a great meal, though we agreed it was not quite as hot at the first time. (where we all felt intoxicated from the spice that night, and miserable the next day)
Essentially, Hell Night gives us an opportunity to prove to ourselves that we are indeed manly men - able to tolerate even the harshest food-related pain. Of course, this is also an evening where there is a line of shaky men waiting in line for the bathroom. Right before I entered, the man behind me in line said, with a panicked look on his face, "Please don't take too long..." We are manly indeed.
